Faculty Success Workshop

We are all asked to do research, publish, mentor students, teach classes, serve on committees, lead committees, develop curriculum, apply for more research project, support more students, publish more, balance undergraduate and graduate teaching loads, support outreach, get promoted, and so much more. At some point we’ll have to decide should I stick with what I’m doing or work my way into an administrative role? The role of a faculty member is great because we have independence to navigate our own path, but the question becomes how to strike a balance and make an impact. In this workshop we’ll hear from leaders and each other about these topics and so much more. This workshop is intended for faculty who have been in academics for more than a year.

NEW Community Service Project - Tiny Plant Program, Greenhouse

Since 1992 Central Iowa Shelter & Services’ mission is to provide free shelter and meals to homeless adults regardless of physical or emotional conditions, and to facilitate their move toward self-sufficiency. Each year approximately 2,000 homeless men and women receive emergency shelter and supportive services to help them move beyond homelessness.
We will be assisting the farm manager in the greenhouse. Learn more about CISS
